Hello Marek and all,
I'm alive and well (after breathing some fresh air outside this list), I
was/am
pretty busy with other things, amongst these some local large apps were
by now converted to Harbour (Win/OSX, Linux to follow soon) for the most
part
(I've found conversion to be an indefinite process, so I cannot say
"fully").
By now there is a pretty big (and probably useful) bunch of local patches
which
I'd like to submit sometimes in the future. The first half was committed
by Przemek already (many thanks for the great job!). I can send the second
half to the list, maybe you can all help them to be committed. Many of
these
changes were addressing codepage and hbct lib issues. Also, I have a local
list of TOFIXes about issues found with Harbour. Weekend's news is line
drawing
support for GTWVT regardless of the codepage used (plus CP selection was
fixed),
this works in both Unicode and non-Unicode mode. This makes it possible
to abandon DOS codepages without losing drawing chars.
I've seen very nice Christmas presents contributed to Harbour, and I also
have one, my CUI windowing layer is now ready to be committed, pls
decide if it should make it into Harbour, and where. The layer is similar
to CTWIN, but it allows to write to background windows and handles
overlapping windows much better in general.
BTW, Harbour in real life environments seems very-very stable.
Keep up the good work folks, I'm trying to catch up with the list and
contribute as soon as I can.
Brgds and Happy New Year to you all,
Viktor
